SIPA Munich 2012: From print to digital and tablet publishing − Giving customers the content they need in a format they demand
4th Specialized Information Publishing Conference
hosted by SIPA (Specialized Information Publishers Association, Washington), VNR Verlag für die Deutsche Wirtschaft AG (Bonn) and Akademie des Deutschen Buchhandels (Munich).
March 28-30th, 2012 · Munich, Germany · Literaturhaus
Our customers crave focused, accurate quality content that will solve a specific problem, now. But we live in an era of information overkill. There is just too much information in too many formats, most of it not relevant to our customers’ needs.
In order to be profitable in today’s commercial content market, media companies—we’re not simply publishers anymore!—need to connect directly with individual customers and sell them the content they need.
In today’s world, we need to make many different decisions before we deliver our content to our customers. Will the content be a conference, a newsletter, a book, a video, an elearning module? Or will it be all of those things? Then comes the question of format. Will the conference be physical or virtual? Will it be a webinar? Will the newsletter be print, email or web-based? And how do we price it? Do we have one price across platforms and formats, or multiple levels of pricing? So many choices.
This event will clearly and thoughtfully address these questions. It will also help you piece together a road map to deliver specific pieces of relevant content to a customer in the format they want at a price point they can afford. (and contributes positively to your bottom line).
When you leave the event you will have the tools you need to develop a solid plan of action for delivering your content.
The conference sessions will cover the following topics:
- The future of publishing – Anywhere, anytime, anyhow
- What’s next in mobile – Monetizing mobile sites and apps
- Mobile content delivery and its opportunities for marketing, audience development and new revenue streams
- New technologies and workflow requirements
- Successful business and revenue models for publishers
- Marketing strategies online and offline – What’s working?
- Moving from print to digital – Developing new products
- Effective mobile and social media marketing
- Product delivery and direct sales channels
- Business and pricing strategies for multi-platform content
- E-learning – The right strategies for different market sectors
- International in depth-case studies
